i am glad to say that my stick man movie is progressing well.
I have now added a preloader to the movie, not that it really needs one as the file is so small...
i have also added a menu to the movie that has the links ' play movie' and 'contact creator' with the special code attached to the last to make it add a subject line as well.
I consider this as a fair bit of an improvement as i was having trouble with this earlier.... lol.... so yeah... ill keep you updated until its finished!

continuing updates
Yeah just an update... again....
My membership on newgrounds have worked really well, I am now a level 5 or 6 and because of this i can get free 80 word advertising space on their front page!!! Cool hey????
I'm still making my stick man flash movie... It's about 4 or 5 seconds long now and involves a little stick man crying, whipping away his tears three times, then changing his seating position... I plan to end up having him continue from that to a crawl, to a standing walk and then turning into an angel and flying off. But that is still taking a long time to do....
With my client's website i am taking a website template that I was creating for myself and using that.... Basically it is just a series of blue coloured sections/rectangles that have cool light and dark purple boarders. Its really simple in design but the borders make it look slightly more attractive... However I may need to change the colour scheme for the client, but this is not hard to do....
I also encountered a problem trying to work on many of my flash files at home. Because at home we are still running on Flash MX rather than Flash 8, the files will not work. So I have needed to save some of the files at TAFE as a older version of MX so that I can work on them at home....
At TAFE we have been working on Chapter 5 of the book. This has involved a refresh of shape tweening, using shape hinting, creating a mask, inserting a video into fireworks and getting it to play correctly (which is kinda flash... lol.... as you can edit your movie and crop it etc before adding it into the file), etc....
Yeah, this is all i will add to this entry... Basically you get the general idea of what we have done... oh the only real other thing i have learnt that isnt involved with TAFE is that if you are making a flash button and want to insert a subject line then you make the mail to like this: (note my email address has been used, it can be subsituted for your own)
mailto:neelhtak_backwards@hotmail.com?subject=Stick-man
(note 2: TeStick-man is just an example subject line, this can also be substitued...)
Thats all for now... lol

flash movies
Over the last few weeks I have been looking into flash movies a fair bit and rating and reviewing them on the newgrounds site (www.newgrounds.com). Because of all this new found interest I am considering creating my own flash animations and submitting them.
I've asked some of my family members to send me small stories about their life, so far they have been funny stories, which I plan to eventually create into movies....
In tonights lesson i had a practise go at creating stick figures and discovered much to my dismay that it WAY harder than I imagined to create such a simple thing. So... I have decided to create a stick figure movie... I'll get back to you on when its finished...

flash tutorials
I have to list some flash tutorial websites I've found... so here they are.... I have also included a couple of websites that are flash but not tutorials....
Just a site with heaps of tutorials....
Just a site with heaps of tutorials....
Just a site with heaps of tutorials....
This is an awsome website! Basically you just draw a picture and it makes it into a scribble pic for you, or something along those lines...
update
Ok,
Since the last blog update I have done a little bit.... Um.... like we have been working in Flash, its most recovering what I've already learnt... We have been creating small websites within Flash, one of the ones I have designed i particularly liked because it was all blues and purples and basically shapes with ragged outlines on them.... i thought it was rather cool.
I have sent several emails to my client over the last few weeks, none of which she has replied to.
This is adding a bit of stress upon doing a site for her, as she is not replying to my emails and i have sent off to her some need to know questions that i need the answers of before i continue...
At school I just recently handed in my CD assessment. I had to create a CD cover for a client, which was M Squared. The text had to be a dummy text as they would be changing it depending on wat they wanted on the CD covers. The client is using the CD for a series of seminars they are holding.

I also had to create a documentation for this assignment which was 41 pages long! 41 pages!!!! the biggest ever assignment i have ever have to do!!!! the average is between 2 and 5 pages long, 10 at the very maximum most(which was like once...) But my ITS assignment was 41 pages long!!!!! It was very detailed though. I had to include a client brief, layers, diary, table of contents, splash pages (drafts and roughs), improvements to splash pages, etc, etc.... there were so many things.... plus the self evaluation was a killer to write. we werent allowed to use words like i, me, us, etc so all the lines that i wanted to write i had to figure out how to say without using those words....
Finally, up to today... between all my exams and studying i have slightly managed to keep up with all the tafe stuff... slightly..... Except for tonight... big surprise! my memory stick is not in my pencil case!!!! i was like o no!!!! So I have none of my files here tonight at all.... My plan is to update this blog, nearly done, work on a whole bunch of flash tutorials and save the files to my school memory stick to move across to the other one later...
Anyway, i better go, i wanna see what kind of tutorials there are for flash on the web that i can do....
